Do. Love. Walk.

Hello, my name is Michael Clevenger. My life is a romance with providence. I love Jesus, the least of these, worship, music, biking, intercession, traveling, theology, philosophy, non-violence, learning, listening, reading, adventuring, exploring, tea, writing, photography, coffee, stirring up others faith, good times, good sweet tea, & good BBQ-- not necessarily in that order. Check out my new blog "Gospel of the Kingdom" below.

“Life on earth has certainly had its harsh realities from age to age. To have a Celtic horde come sweeping through your village, or to live in the midst of the Black Plague, or to be captured as a slave and survive the journey to a new world only to live a life of hard labor in the West Indies must have been simply awful. But I believe there are at least five reasons why the twentieth century was an unmitigated disaster: the globalization of poverty, the destruction of the environment, the neglect and exploitation of children, runaway urbanization, and the scale of self destruction. These five factors have made life harder for more people than it’s ever been since the dawn of humanity, and they point to the dire necessity for a wave of new friars who vow themselves in the name of Jesus to a life of justice and holiness—men and women willing to descend the walls of intractable poverty in order to restore dignity and usher in the kingdom of God to those living and dying on the margins.”
