Come Like You Promised Ascend The Hill

And in that day, declares the LORD, you will call me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer will you call me ‘My Baal.’  For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be remembered by name no more.
And I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down in safety.
And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the LORD.

It fascinates me that thousands of us can make fun of a man’s claim of the rapture and yet thousands have never heard His name #wakeupchurch

Best link I’ve found on Bible Scholar Harold Camping’s claim of the rapture being May 21, 2011.

“It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority”  -Acts 1v7

“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” Mark 13v32

But do consider, if Christ was returning for his church in the next 24 hours, what would you be want to be found doing?  #iwanttobefoundfaithful

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” [Proverbs 16v9]

May 14, 20111 note

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.

So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.

My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,
and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
when I remember you upon my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me

But those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down into the depths of the earth;
they shall be given over to the power of the sword;
they shall be a portion for jackals.

But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.

-Psalm 63

My soul, my soul! I am in anguish! Oh, my heart! My heart is pounding in me; I cannot be silent because I, my soul, heard the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

She Is... Between The Trees

“Let us never doubt for a moment, that the preaching of Christ crucified – the old story of His blood, righteousness, and substitution – is enough for all the spiritual necessities of all mankind. It is not worn out. It is not obsolete. It has not lost its power. We need nothing new – nothing more broad and kind – nothing more intellectual – nothing more effectual. We need nothing but the true bread of life, distributed faithfully among starving souls. Let men sneer or ridicule as they will. Nothing else can do good in this sinful world. No other teaching can fill hungry consciences, and give them peace. We are all in a wilderness. We must feed on Christ crucified, and the atonement made by His death, or we shall die in our sins.” ~ J.C. Ryle

Burn the Fleet

And we will burn the fleet,

We can never go home,
So to victory or underground.

Burn the fleet,
We’ll be heroes or ghosts,
But we won’t be turned around.

Explore. Dream. Discover.

‎”Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
- Mark Twain

“‎I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” —

Martin Luther King Jr (via nostalgicwiththestateofmind)

 only love can do that...
