Do. Love. Walk.

Hello, my name is Michael Clevenger. My life is a romance with providence. I love Jesus, the least of these, worship, music, biking, intercession, traveling, theology, philosophy, non-violence, learning, listening, reading, adventuring, exploring, tea, writing, photography, coffee, stirring up others faith, good times, good sweet tea, & good BBQ-- not necessarily in that order.

A Journey of Unlearning

Over the last month, I have rejoiced, wept, laughed uncontrollably.  I’ve been utterly confused, infuriated, extremely broken, and probably every other emotion imagined.  You would of thought I was a teenage girl in High School, or on Jersey Shore.
The Lord has brought me on a humbling journey of (attempting to) read through the gospels, without any preconceived ideas, notions, or opinions.  My goal was simple, to try to put myself in the sandals of a 1st century man walking with Christ and to stop looking for formulas.  It’s been a wild journey of unlearning and sleepless nights because what I hear behind the pulpit, whether things blatantly spoken, or revealed through action, is not matching up with what Christ said or taught.

First, let me say this off the bat, I do not want to (join the thousands before and I’m sure after me) bash the church.  I do not want to step on any toes for the sake of argument, however you cannot afford to drink the kool-aid while thousands of people die without food or drink.  I want to spur you to love, truth, and to find out for yourself what Jesus really taught and said.  I encourage you to ask questions!  Search the scriptures and see why thousands of eyewitnesses died gruesome deaths refusing to deny what they’ve seen.

Below are links to some realizations I’ve been discovering on this journey.
